What does well-being really mean?
What it isn’t!
I can tell you that it’s not about spending lots of money, time and effort on things that you can project your idea of being ‘well’ onto.
Personal wellbeing is all about doing the work on your inner self, in order that you feel as good on the inside as you do on the outside. It’s all about being real in a busy World.
What does well-being really mean?
How do you get there?
When I was 50 everything changed for me personally. I called it an epiphany others called me mad! I was known for going with my gut and changing jobs if I FELT I had to! Does this resonate with you?
I had realised that my version of the World did not match the movie that was running in front of me. It was all about everyone else, their wishes, their needs and their expectations! Absolutely nothing to do with me and what I needed or wanted. I bet you are thinking what has this got to do with me or a persons’ wellbeing?
Well in order to be, and feel ‘well’ you need to take action. You create new habits that suit you and practice them until they become a routine that you do not want to change. Nothing good comes without a bit of work.
What does it mean for a client?
You can start by adopting one good habit at a time, my first good habit was to decide what I wanted to do work wise. I wrote it down, looked at it and threw it in the bin.
The next day I started again, this time I could really feel that what I had written down as my goal, was truly what I wanted. It took a few years of holding onto old habits and only having one foot in my new World, before I could see that this new work was definitely my dream job.
The message here, is that change happens when you have committed with both feet. No point being half hearted because a ‘part’ of you is not on the journey. When any part of you does not want to do something, you create resistance to change.
Once I had sorted out what I really wanted, I had to take some action. Sometimes we are not ready straight away. We might think we are, but nothing ever happens until the right time!
So, my physical wellbeing helped my emotional wellbeing because I was ready and completely committed to my path. I enjoyed my soul purpose more than I ever imagined. Does your work feel like that?
Next, I started doing less deflecting and focused on one goal at a time. This created less stress in my body. I tried the whole process on my clients and had some great results.
